Dr. Michael Bufo

DMD

Dr. Bufo graduated from Brown University in 1983 and received his dental degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1987. From 1987-1990 he served as a captain in the United States Air Force, providing dental care for retired and active duty service members and their families.

Between 1990 and 2003, Dr. Bufo created two successful dental practices in West Newfield and Springvale, ME that offered the latest in dental technologies, including digital radiography and lasers, esthetic restorative dentistry and non-surgical periodontal therapy. In 2004, he opened Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry & TMJ in Scarborough, ME, focusing on cosmetic dentistry, TMJ, neuromuscular dentistry, and complex occlusal and restorative procedures. In 2012 he merged his Scarborough practice into the current Brighton Dental Associates location in Portland and in 2015 became the owner of Windham Dental Associates in Windham Maine. He is an Invisalign Preferred Provider and focuses his practice on cosmetic and neuromuscular dentistry, TMJ and difficult bite problems.

Dr. Bufo averages almost 100 hours of continuing education per year and was chosen to be a clinical instructor at the renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). He travels to the Institute several times each year to teach dentists from across the globe about the most advanced cosmetic dentistry procedures and therapy for TMJ disorders. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maine Dental Association, the International Association of Physiologic Aesthetics, and the International College of Craniomandibular Orthopedics.

Dr. Meghan McAlary

DMD

Dr. Meghan McAlary, also known as "Dr. Mac", grew up in Scarborough, ME and attended college at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia for a Bachelor of Science. She returned to Maine and pursued a Master of Public Health at the University of Southern Maine. She continued on to dental school at the University of New England College of Dental Medicine, completing her degree in 2022.

Dr. McAlary had an early interest in dentistry. She appreciates how improving a patient's smile can boost a patient's overall confidence. The ever-evolving technology in the dental field also continues to fascinate her. Most of all, she loves getting to know patients on a personal level and helping them achieve oral health. Dr. Mac is skilled in all areas of general dentistry and is an Invisalign® Provider. She has received training at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies alongside her mentor, Dr. Michael Bufo.

In her free time, Dr. McAlary enjoys spending time with her family and her Goldendoodle named Tofino! If you can't find Dr. Mac at the dental office, you can find her out in nature either skiing on the slopes or surfing the waves at the beaches nearby!

Fun Fact: Dr. Mac was a ski instructor at Sunday River in Bethel, Maine!

Dr. Owen Williams

DMD

Dr. Owen Williams is a Maine native. Having grown up in Biddeford, he graduated from the University of New England with a Bachelor of Science degree. Following the completion of his undergraduate studies, Dr. Williams attended the University of New England’s College of Dental Medicine, completing his degree in 2024.

Dr. Williams was originally drawn to the field of dentistry because of an interest in orthodontics, but soon found that helping patients achieve and maintain optimal oral health is where his strengths and passion for dentistry truly lie. Dr. Williams loves to connect with patients on a personal level to foster confidence and mutual respect. He is committed to providing top-level, comprehensive patient centered care.

While in dental school Dr. Williams was awarded the EDIC James B. Hanley Legacy Scholarship. It is awarded for commitment to leadership and motivation to improve student and professional involvement in the dental community within the state of Maine. He was also inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society for outstanding scholarship and clinical competency.

When Dr. Williams is not in the office he enjoys quality time with family and friends, whipping up delicious creations in the kitchen, caring for his plant collection, playing with the family dogs, or simply relaxing on the couch watching sports.

Dr. Drew Sigman

DMD

Dr. Drew Sigman fell in love with dentistry at a young age. As a child she found this passion after a cavity free check-up and won a stuffed animal from her pediatric dentist, which she still has today!

The Virginia native attended James Madison University and went on to earn her D.M.D. degree from the University of New England. She then completed a multidisciplinary hospital-based residency at the VA Medical Center in Baltimore Maryland.

As a clinician, Dr. Sigman enjoys building trusting relationships with her patients so they feel comfortable, safe and can have a confident smile. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and believes that her patients can be empowered by having great oral health and takes pride in treating the whole person, not just their teeth.

Dr. Sigman was inducted into the Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society for her excellence in clinical dentistry and professionalism. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Alpha Omega International Dental Society.

In her spare time, you can find Dr. Sigman exploring the Portland food scene and enjoying all of Maine’s seasons. She adores her family, friends, and two family dogs, Fluffy and Mia. She won’t hesitate to show you pictures if you ask!
